Adam Clark of nj.com wrote an interesting historical sketch highlighting the 250th anniversary of Rutgers. Clark notes that the establishment was "Founded every moment Queen's College inwards 1766 to develop hereafter ministers for the Dutch Reformed Church, the schoolhouse was renamed Rutgers College inwards 1825 together with grew into a land-grant establishment and, eventually, the state academy of New Bailiwick of Jersey inwards 1956."
